Australia allows media coverage of cases by Twitter

Or more accurately, the Federal Court in Australia will leave it up to individual judges to determine whether Twitter may be used by journalists in the courtroom.  Justice Dennis Cowdroy has permitted the practice in a much-publicized copyright case.

So Twitter is now being used to cover cases and, as we’ve previously discussed, to serve injunctions by tweet.  Could the next step be issuing decisions?  Aside from the 140-character limit, it might not be that farfetched.
