Is the CIA following you on Twitter? The EFF wants to know, and has filed a lawsuit seeking disclosure of information regarding the government’s policies for use of social media in investigations. The complaint seeks injunctive relief under FOIA. Perhaps if the court finds that relief is appropriate, the injunction can be served via tweet.

Note that the complaint alleges that citizens’ privacy rights may be implicated by these governemental policies. Do citizens really have a privacy interest in statements broadcast through social media?
