Public Records Requests do not trigger reciprocal Criminal Rule 16 Discovery

FSSP assists clients in obtaining public records under Ohio’s Sunshine Laws.  As part of that work, a criminal defendant in a DUI case used a strawman to obtain public records relating to his arrest, including the cruiser video of the field sobriety test and calibration tests of the intoxilizer machine.

Major developments in case FSSP is prosecuting against Ohio Elections Commission

This past week held a major development in the landmark case of COAST Candidates PAC v. Ohio Elections Commission, to some known as the “Tweets” case.  FSSP represents COAST in this important case.  Specifically, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine filed a brief pointing out the infirmities of Ohio’s false claims statute.
